Why Choose Our Timber Battens?
Our timber battens are one of the most popular products we sell, and it's easy to see why. They're lightweight, easy to handle, and strong enough to hold up in all sorts of projects around the home and garden. Whether you're a seasoned tradesperson or getting stuck into your first DIY job, these battens make life a lot easier.
Every batten we stock is pressure treated to a high standard, giving you solid protection against rot, fungal decay and insect damage. That means less maintenance for you and a longer lifespan for your project. We source our softwood carefully and keep our stock turning over so you're always getting timber that's fresh, straight and ready to use.
What Can You Use 2x1 Timber Battens for?
You'd be surprised how many jobs a simple 2x1 batten can handle. They're ideal as fixing battens for fence panels, cladding and roof felt. They also work brilliantly as spacer battens for decking subframes or as support strips behind plasterboard and other sheet materials.
Out in the garden, they're a great option for building trellis frames, plant supports and lightweight screening. If you're putting together raised beds or cold frames, a few 2x1 battens can tie the whole structure together without adding unnecessary bulk.
For larger construction work, these battens are commonly used as roofing battens, counter battens, and general purpose fixing strips. The C16 grading means they're structurally reliable and consistent in quality, so you can trust them on site just as much as in the garden.
Available Sizes and Lengths
We carry our timber battens in a range of lengths to suit different project sizes. Shorter lengths from 3ft up to 6ft are perfect for smaller garden jobs and fencing work. For bigger builds and trade projects, our 3.6m and 4.8m lengths give you more coverage with fewer joins.
We also stock a slightly larger 25mm x 50mm option in the longer lengths if you need a bit more strength or depth for your project. Not sure which size is right for the job? Just give us a call on 0117 251 0092 and we'll talk you through it. That's what we're here for.
